Closing in on its first anniversary, Burntwood Tavern in Brecksville may be finding the success that has eluded several former occupants of the old Spanish Tavern building. "We opened on December 3rd and it's been pretty much non-stop since then," reports general manager Scott Fisher.
The Brecksville outpost comprises the fifth Burntwood Tavern location for owner Bret Adams, who infuses his restaurants with a combination of updated comfort foods, accommodating service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Live music is featured Thursdays and Fridays.
Designer Christian Kalinyak has kept the bones of the old Spanish Tavern building largely intact while putting his own unique stamp on them with a Burntwood Tavern signature blend of rustic wood, hand-blown glass, and metal chandeliers. It's a beautiful space: rustic and elegant at the same time, with the coziness of a lofted barn space. A downstairs bar area features additional seating, a new patio, and a large, wood-burning stone fireplace original to the building.
